	The Yaesu FC-30 Tuner is designed expressly for the FT-897 and bolts to the side of the radio. It covers 1.8 - 30 and 50 - 54 MHz, handling up to 100 watts with a VSWR of 1.5:1 or less. Tuneup power is 4 to 60 watts and tuning takes 5 seconds or less. There are 100 impedance matching memories. This tuner pulls the required 13.7 VDC directly from the transceiver. The impedance matching is 16.5 to 150 ohms and accordingly, the FC-30 should not be expected to match "long wire" type antennas unless specific steps have been taken in the design of the antenna to insure it is within these specifications. 	The FC-40 is a microprocessor-controlled antenna impedance matching network designed to provide all-amateur-band transmitting capability with the FT-897/857 Series of transceivers, when used with an end-fed random wire or long whip antenna. The FC-40 makes use of the control circuitry built into the transceiver, which allows the operator to control and monitor automatic operation of the FC-40, which mounts near the antenna feedpoint.
